Fukuoka Sakura blooming forecast 2025 & locations

Cherry blossoms in Fukuoka City are expected to start blooming on March 23, with peak bloom around April 3. Typically, the blossoms remain for about a week after reaching their peak, but this can vary depending on weather conditions. In rainy years, the full bloom may last only a few days.

However, if you’re visiting Japan in mid-April, don’t worry!

You may still have a chance to see different varieties of sakura in bloom. The forecast mainly refers to Somei Yoshino, the most common and well-known cherry blossom variety, but there are many other types of sakura that bloom at different times.

In fact, various sakura species bloom from mid-February to mid-April in central Japan, including Fukuoka, and in northern regions like Hokkaido, cherry blossoms can last until May.
